The National Capital Authority (NCA) manages the Australian Government's continuing interest in the planning, promotion, enhancement and maintenance of Canberra as the nation's capital, on behalf of all Australians.
A national capital embodies the values, culture and stories of the nation. The NCA is working to create a place which symbolises the essence of Australia, where all Australians feel welcome and have a sense of ownership.
We intend to realise the promise of the city plan and the ideals of the founders through our strategic blueprint for the future planning of Canberra The Griffin Legacy.

The draft Development Control Plan No. 171/08/0007 has been prepared to establish planning and urban design provisions including building height, environment and heritage considerations, landscaping, vehicular access and car parking.

National Library and Questacon Precinct
The new Humanities and Science Campus Square between the National Library of Australia and Questacon will be completed by the end of June 2009.
Anzac Parade Reconstruction
The road pavement on Anzac Parade will undergo a reconstruction over the next three years by the Australian Government.
RG Menzies Walk Reconstruction
The RG Menzies Walk reconstruction is the first project under the Canberra Central Parklands Master Plan. A 4.5 metre wide promenade will be constructed on the northern shores of Lake Burley Griffin.
